As previously reported by Gossip Girls, HSM 3 is the story of “Seniors in high school, Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Hudgens) struggle with the idea of being separated from one another as college approaches. Along with the rest of the Wildcats, they stage a spring musical to address their experiences, hopes and fears about their future.”

The film, which is to be directed by Kenny Ortega, is currently listed as having an October 24, 2008 release date.
